Fresh from the release of their latest album ‘In The Grace Of Your Love’ through Modular Recordings, The Rapture are back in Australia as part of the huge Future Music Festival tour and plan to perform some intimate side shows for your pleasure. Joining them will be Canadian dance-disco quartet Azari & III. Expect a lot from this show, it’s bound to be snappy.

If it’s 100% pure dance punk that floats your boat, then NYC’s The Rapture have got the goods – and a whole lot more. Formed way back in 1998, this groundbreaking, pioneering act have kindly given the planet four epic albums (‘Mirror’, ‘Echoes’, ‘Pieces Of The People We Love’ and the latest gem ‘In The Grace Of Your Love’), plus a collection of generation-defining tunes that boasts the likes of ‘House Of Jealous Lovers’, ‘Get Myself Into It’, ‘The Chair That Squeaks’ and ‘Sister Savior’.
The Rapture have big plans for the months ahead, as they are set to release a new single 'Sail Away' featuring remixes from Cut Copy, Aeroplane & Cosmic Kids as well as an EP Remix Bundle next week (January 27th).

Featuring the skills of Luke Jenner, Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel Andruzzi, The Rapture are revered for their innate ability to effortlessly meld their punk roots with electronic and dance elements to create a sound that all their very own. Azari & III last came to Australia on a whistle stop tour and performed during the Vivid Festival 2011. They created such an amazing impression Future Music Festival snapped them up to come back again to show their wares off to a bigger audience. Hitting the world between the eyes with singles like ‘Hungry For The Power’ and ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’ at the start of their stunning musical adventure, Azari & III have since been a much-loved mainstay of the planet’s finest clubs and biggest festival stages. The quartet will also release a deluxe digital version of their album on February 10th.

Blessed with a rare ability to transcend genres and scenes, their high profile fans range from Annie Mac and Grizzly Bear to Boys Noize and Broken Social Scene, while their list of remix duties takes in the eclectic likes of Robyn, Cut Copy, Booka Shade, Creep (Romy of the XX) and LA’s noise darlings Health. Natalie Pa’apa’a of Blue King Brown is Australia’s premier urban roots performer. Pa’apa’a’s powerful voice and lyrical delivery, creates a dance, roots, rock and afro groove mash-up.

In 2012 Deborah Conway and Willie Zygier continue to explore the breadth of sound that can be extracted from acoustic instruments and vocals. Together they sing about the things that make 50-somethings furious, miserable, wistful, amused, curious and even occasionally happy. Conway and Zygier will perform songs from their extensive back catalogue alongside some yet to be released work.

For 25 years the glorious voices of Vika and Linda Bull have comprised one of the most distinctive, versatile and emotionally charged sounds on the Australian music landscape.  Born of a Tongan mother and Australian father, Vika and Linda have been singing together for as long as they can remember.

Tina Del Twist is consummate cabaret performer Wes Snelling’s alter ego. Like any diva that has been around the traps, Tina is a beautiful jazz/blues singer but beyond this are her funny, eccentric, debauched, glamorous, daring and extraordinary tales of her career.

Occasionally it sounds like a 1920s prohibition-era dance band, but the truth is Flap!'s music draws on a variety of sounds that never fits neatly into any one style. Jess Guille's vocals are honey-sweet, while Eamon McNelis' trumpet playing is a riot of colour and rhythm. Flap!'s onstage energy is exciting, sometimes frightening, and disarmingly delightful.

The Sunshine Sisters are three beautiful female Australian performers who have come together to entertain and enlighten audiences with fresh songs, sweet harmonies and infectious rhythms. They perform to celebrate the Australian roots culture and bring to light the creative singer songwriter art form.

Soulful Melbourne-born song-smith Briony McKenzie is defined by her long-standing love affair with jazz, soul and blues. Originally a classically trained cellist, Briony's intriguing melodies complement lyrics that are powerful, raw, often philosophical, at times mischievous, and always easy to relate to. Briony Mackenzie is a former intern, volunteer and staff member of IWDA.

She Said Zed are three sisters from the inner suburbs; a blonde, a brunette and an occasional redhead, when she’s feeling flush. They have been singing together almost as long as they have been arguing together. The occasional redhead has been furiously penning tunes for the last six years and has built up quite an arsenal of material.
